The Durango Herald continues to show that it no longer wants to be a leader in influencing public opinion for the betterment of our community.
Yet again, the lengthy editorial on the opinion page is devoted to an irrelevant topic (“Elvis lives,” Aug. 19) that does nothing to advance conversation or ideas around topics of extreme importance to everyday life in La Plata County and our nation.
Poorly written, convoluted, showcasing the writer’s knowledge of obscure facts and ability to research facts, this opinion piece again fails bigly.
Most days, I skip these irrelevant pieces that I used to look forward to reading.
Our nation, under the Trump administration, experiences mind-blowing extreme changes daily. There are many topics of importance and relevance to be explored, yet the editors can’t seem to identify and thoughtfully explore them.
We need a community newspaper unafraid to discuss, and take opinions on, issues of importance to all of us. Durango Herald, you can do better.
