Officials at Mercy Family Medicine have said they are pleased with the response they have received from local patients to the new clinic in Bayfield, but they have not been able to provide care for some of the cases at the clinic. One person came in while undergoing cardiac arrest, and another one had an injury from a chainsaw and needed to go to the emergency room immediately.
The clinic's parent company, Mercy Family Medicine, released the following in an announcement:
"Mercy Family Medicine is pleased to serve the residents of Bayfield and surrounding areas. Please be aware that the only services currently available at the Mercy Family Medicine clinic in Bayfield are primary care and blood draws, with a provider's order. Primary care appointments may be made in person at the clinic.
At this time, the clinic does not offer walk-in primary care, urgent care, or emergency care. Those in need of urgent and emergency care should go to Mercy Regional Medical Center at 1010 Three Springs Blvd. in Durango.
A medical doctor and nurse practitioner currently are seeing patients on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the clinic is open daily to take appointments. The clinic is closed from noon to 1 p.m.
The clinic is located at 480 Wolverine Drive, suite 3, and appointments can be made at 764-9150.
