As a 25-year resident of Durango, I have been a patient of Durango Family Medicine for many years.
I am deeply disturbed by the news that Centura Health forbids doctors under its employ from prescribing life-ending medication.
I would think a high-quality health care system like Centura would be interested in expanding, rather than limiting, patient and provider options.
If it is true that Centura Health is administratively restraining physicians from prescribing life-ending medication, it is my intention to end my relationship with Durango Family Medicine and seek care from a more progressive medical group.
