As elections approach for Durango’s City Council, two upcoming forums will allow Durango residents to have a dialogue with candidates.
Sweetie Marbury, Dave McHenry, Sean Waddel and Dick White will engage with the public during Pie & Coffee with the City Council Candidates at 6 p.m. Monday in the Westminster Hall of First Presbyterian Church, 1159 East Third Avenue.
Elections are held on the first Tuesday of April – April 7 this year – on odd-numbered years.
The League of Women Voters of La Plata County will sponsor an additional City Council Candidate Forum from 5:30 to 7 p.m.. Thursday in the City Council Chambers in City Hall, 979 East Second Avenue.
The League of Women Voters’ forum will be televised on Durango Government Television, Charter Channel 191, and periodically rebroadcast until the election.
The forum also will be streamed on the Durango city website, www.durangogov.org, and a DVD of the forum will be available at the Durango Public Library.
