Enote to present ‘Mesa Verde and the Cultivation of Resilience’

Jim Enote will discuss “Mesa Verde and the Cultivation of Resilience” at 7 p.m. June 8 at Mesa Verde National Park Visitor and Research Center.

He will talk about themes of Puebloan cosmology and the maintenance of well-being and how and why the themes endure today.

The program is part of the 2018 Four Corner Lecture Series and is free and open to the public.

Enote, born and raised in Zuni, New Mexico, is a Zuni tribal member and director of the Colorado Plateau Foundation and director of the A:shiwi A:wan Museum and Heritage Center.

He is a senior adviser for Mountain Cultures at the Mountain Institute, a National Geographic Society explorer, a New Mexico Community Luminaria and an E.F. Schumacher Society Fellow.

His experience includes natural resource, cultural resource, philanthropic and arts work for organizations, including UNESCO, International Secretariat for Water, U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Mountain Institute, Zuni Tribe and several major charitable foundations, museums and universities.
