Enough of this Lachelt recall nonsense

A few misguided voters, who essentially just disagree with Commissioner Gwen Lachelt on environmental policies, are now taking it to the nonsensical extreme. They had more than enough time to collect signatures for a recall, but fell more than 2,000 short! That should have been the end of it, until we all have the right to vote for a new commissioner in 2020. That’s the way the American democratic system is supposed to work.

But, no, these fringe interests, supported with out-of-state political money, want to send a message to other environment officials nationally. That’s what’s really at play here. Force Gwen out of her duly elected office, and send the message to environmentally moderate officials nationwide: If you do not tow the line on oil, gas and coal, we have the money to remove you from office. Plain and simple.

Don’t give these opportunists an undeserved second bite at the apple. Decline to sign! And support the true, democratic American way.
