The Environmental Protection Agency will hold public meetings in Silverton, Durango and Farmington this week to update communities on the Bonita Peak Mining District Superfund site.
According to a news release, there will be short presentations about the status of the Superfund site and work planned for 2017, followed by time allotted for questions and answers.
“Agency representatives will be available at the end of the meeting for one-on-one conversations,” the release said.
On Tuesday, the meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the San Juan County Courthouse, 1557 Greene Street in Silverton.
On Wednesday, the meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at the Sonoran Conference Room, in the San Juan Public Lands Center, 15 Burnett Court in Durango.
On Thursday, the meeting will be held at 7:15 p.m. at the San Juan College School of Energy, 5301 College Boulevard in Farmington.
