The Four Corners Office for Resource Efficiency has hired Erika Brown as its new regional energy coach for the La Plata Electric Association service territory, serving primarily La Plata and Archuleta counties. Her position is funded through a Colorado Energy Office grant awarded jointly to 4CORE, LPEA and the city of Durango.
Brown brings more than 15 years of experience leading community initiatives that protect natural resources and strengthen public education. She worked as communications manager for San Juan Citizens Alliance and has served on the Durango School District Board of Education since 2020.
In her new role, Brown will provide guidance to community members seeking information about available energy efficiency, renewable energy and beneficial electrification (both buildings and transportation) programs, incentives and educational resources.
