Escalante Middle School rocketry team advances to national finals

A team from Escalante Middle School is one of 101 national finalists in the Team America Rocketry Challenge, sponsored by the Aerospace Industries Association.

Students will compete against other teams at the National Finals, taking place May 18 in Northern Virginia. In addition to competing for a total of $100,000 in prizes, the winner of the National Finals will advance to the International Rocketry Challenge, taking place in June in Paris. The top 20 finishers will earn a spot in next year’s NASA Student Launch competition.

The team is advised by Scot Davis. A first time entrant into the competition, the middle school team will be competing against both middle and high schools in the finals.
