Espanola gun dealer sentenced to 2 years in federal prison

ALBUQUERQUE – A 56-year-old licensed gun dealer from northern New Mexico faces two years in federal prison after being sentenced for weapons crimes.

Robert Real (ray-AHL’) of Espanola was sentenced Monday in federal court in Albuquerque after pleading guilty June 7 to charges that included conspiracy, sale of a firearm to a felon, falsifying records and making false statements to federal law enforcement officers.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Real’s actions in 2016 ignored and avoided several legal and administrative restrictions on federally licensed firearms dealers.
