Evidence supports the use of fluoride

Fluoride has been preventing cavities in children’s teeth in Durango for many decades. During this period there has been no indication of any negative factors. With such evidence, why is there a movement to discontinue using this mineral?

The scientific community has recommended this treatment to prevent tooth decay; therefore, it seems strange that there is a movement to remove this product from our city water.

Even more strange is the wording on the ballot. The voter who approves of the use of fluoride in Durango’s water must vote “no” on 1A. So much for clear communication!

So voters, be sure and read the ballot carefully when you cast your vote.
