Senator Ted Cruz, Sen. Cory Gardner and Senate colleagues, tell me this is not so:
Will your “Consumer Freedom” amendment of the Better Care Reconciliation Act really exempt members of congressional families from the essential benefits provisions?
I hope you have not forgotten that your responsibility is to promote general welfare and look out for the common good.
This amendment and the broader Better Care Act are not fulfilling your responsibility to your employers – the American people.
Please protect Americans who are not rich. Please do not reduce taxes on the very rich at the expense of truly needy Americans.
Please do not provide tax breaks for profit-driven insurance companies and their CEOs.
Please look out for all of us. That is why we hired you.
