Experience shows the value of fluoride

Now a nearly 80-year-old woman, as a child I did not have the benefit of fluoride in the water and, as a consequence, I have suffered dental problems my entire life, particularly with fillings.

Upon visiting my periodontist recently, I asked his opinion on fluoride in the water of Durango.

Should it be discontinued he told me, in six or seven years there would not be enough dentists in Durango to treat the decay in children’s teeth.

My nearly adult grandchildren have had the benefit of fluoride since birth and hardly know what a filling is.

This makes it an easy decision; I will vote to continue fluoridation of the water in Durango.
