Extra mail spilled out of box

Recently, I stopped at the Durango Post Office drive-through to put my mail in.

The outside box was completely full with mail falling out onto the ground. Extra mail was on top of The Durango Herald box. No wonder our mail doesn’t arrive when postal workers are unable to come outside, empty the mailbox and send out the mail. I’m hoping no one’s electric or utilities gets turned off because payments did not arrive as postal workers can’t empty the box. Really?

This is the problem with today’s society. I am sure the response will be that the post office is short-staffed.

I went inside, dropped off my envelope, and knocked and knocked on the door to let workers know about the mess outside. They will not come to the door.

I contacted the Durango Police Department in the hopes an officer could get postal workers to answer the phone or door.

Be aware if your mail is not getting to where it should go. This could be the problem.
