Fine for city dwellers, but, duh, does anyone in Durango city government have a clue as to how many county residents come into town on a daily basis for work, groceries, shopping and entertainment? Can’t really telecommute groceries and entertainment, now, can we? I can only assume Amber Blake thinks we county dwellers should ride bikes or walk or, for us, take a nonexistent trolley.
And build in town? Really? Where? Unless you are a millionaire and can afford to scrape an existing house or pay exorbitant prices for a run-down two-bedroom house that needs a total remodel, you are out of luck.
Durango needs to get over itself and face the reality of a working community rather than Aspen South. Solutions are tough, but the city, county and CDOT need to start being proactive and look forward, rather operate under the usual reactive solutions to problems that could and should have been foreseen with a little thought and planning. That concept seems to be a far-fetched reality in present government.
