The Durango Devo Town Race Series will kick off tonight (April 26) with a test event, the Factory Trails Fun Race. The event will take place from 5-7 p.m. at the Fort Lewis College pump track and bike park, located off Talon Drive.

The event will feature a short-track cross-country race, which is a 15-20 minute race featuring multiple laps around a set dirt trail and road track. The riders will do 5-8 laps on the course, depending on its length. There will be a level B/C race at 5:45 p.m., followed by a 1-lap running race. At 6:30 p.m. there will be an A-race for the fastest mountain bike racers. Men and women will start together in all race waves. The course is designed for mountain bikes, but gravel and cyclocross bikes are welcomed and fit for the course.

The event is a kickoff test event for the Durango Devo Town Series presented by Zia Taqueria. The bimonthly Wednesday night series has a spring, summer and fall seasons. The spring series will officially start on May 17 at Twin Buttes with the Ed n' Flow Enduro and Hill Climb.

Entry for the Factory Trails Fun Race is free.

It is designed to celebrate cycling, in collaboration between Durango Devo, FLC Cycling and Animas High School.

Races in the Town Series are $10 and open to all community members. The series is a fundraiser for Durango Devo and run by Devo coach, FLC alumni and Aztec Adventures co-creator Will Farmer.
