Kiana Valdez is the winner of first and second-place ribbons in the open sheep category in this year's La Plata County Fair, held last weekend in Durangp. Her sheep Shawn took the blue ribbon, while Saydi took a red. Kiana is the daughter of Cindy and Chris Valdez of Ignacio.
Amanda Ludwig, 16, is a winner of first and champion ribbons in cake decorating for this cake decorated with cowboy boots and sunflowers. She is a member of the Pine River 4H Club.
This feline quilt by Marilyn Ellis and Kim Radabaugh is a first, champion and reserve grand champion winner at the fair.
