I drive by the homeless camp a few times a week. Last week, I noticed children, including a little girl 4 or 5 years old. She was dressed in a yellow long-sleeved shirt and pants. I know the men who take care of Purple Cliffs do a great job. But why are there children in our homeless camp in winter?
I read where the Durango area made huge amounts of money during the building boom. And still are. Durango can’t afford some emergency apartments for families with children? Just in winter? Maybe sometimes it does take a village to raise a child. Children can’t make choices of where they live.
