A 79-year-old Cortez man went missing Thursday afternoon, and his wife and friends are seeking the community’s help in finding him.
Charles “Chuck” Current was supposed to meet his wife, Anne, at Southwest Memorial Hospital mid-afternoon, but he never showed up, she said. Current has dementia, and he left his phone at home.
Current is 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and is driving a 2005 silver Subaru Outback, with license plate number 758 MIY. He enjoys rock hunting and driving on county roads all throughout Montezuma County, Anne said.
He is also diabetic and has heart disease, she said.
They have friends searching for him throughout the county, out in McElmo Canyon and up toward Rico. Local search and rescue teams have also been notified.
