The new Farmer Network coordinator position will be a full-time, staffed position for 2.5 years at the Extension Office in Aztec.
The coordinator will work with landowners across San Juan County, N.M., to create a list of available farm land for lease, and pair that land with new farmers and farmers who want to expand their operations.
Successful applicants will have a bachelor’s degree in agriculture or a related field; have experience in program planning, development and implementation; and have leadership skills. The applicant should be skilled in examining and evaluating operations and developing and operating strategies, systems and procedures, and have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
