Farmers Market: Reconnect Skincare fuses nature and cosmetics

Chemical sensitivities led Juran to create own body products

Ivana Juran suffered from allergies and sensitivities to chemicals found in most grocery store cosmetics – so she created her own line of products.

She describes her company, Reconnect Skincare, as “natural and organic aromatherapy products with nature in mind.”

She has been making the selling her products for several years, she said.

“It’s handcrafted, natural skin care made from scratch,” Juran said. “It’s made with organic ingredients and wild-harvested and organically homegrown herbs.”

Reconnect Skincare produces a variety of products including soaps, body butters, massage oils, deodorants and facial care, she said. They are made in Pagosa Springs, where Juran has lived for about four years.

On her Etsy page, Juran mentions that she healed her own psoriasis through her diet and natural skin care products, without the aid of steroid creams or medications.

Lest one assume that her bath, body and beauty items are inherently feminine, Reconnect also has items made with men in mind, such as beard oils and balms that promote healthy growth and condition the skin under the beard.

This is Juran’s first year at the Durango Farmers Market, but she also sells her cosmetics on Etsy at www.etsy.com/shop/ReconnectSkincare.
