Traffic was diverted for about 40 minutes Friday at the base of Farmington Hill after a car struck a semitrailer.
The crash occurred at 2:23 p.m. when a 2013 Dodge Charger heading eastbound on U.S. Highway 160 drove through a red light and collided with the semitrailer, which was turning left to go up Farmington Hill, said Sgt. Chad Martin, with the Colorado State Patrol.
The driver of the Charger was identified as Charlie Arbaugh, 70, of Sweetwater, Texas. He was complaining of chest pain.
He was cited with failing to obey a traffic signal, Martin said.
The driver of the truck was identified as Brian Rhode, who has a New Mexico driver’s license and was uninjured.
The intersection was blocked while a tow company worked to remove the wreckage.
