FARMINGTON – Farmington police say an eight-hour standoff with an armed suspect in a sexual assault and robbery case ended peacefully.
Police say 34-year-old David Reimers’ surrender ended the Saturday morning standoff which began when police stopped a truck to arrest Reimers and he then threatened to harm himself.
According to police, Reimers was arrested on a warrant charging him with robbery and sexual assault in connection with an incident Friday at a motel, and he also will face charges stemming from the standoff.
