Ongoing events

Tuesdays, 2 p.m.: Baby story time. Interactive activities with music, stories, finger-plays, counting rhymes and playtime for infants to 18-month-old children. Parents and caregivers are welcome.

Thursdays, 10:30 a.m.: Toddler story time. Stories, songs, rhymes and other activities for children ages 2-3. Story time lasts 30 minutes with crafts after.

Fridays, 10:30 a.m.: Preschool story time. Stories, songs, rhymes and other activities for children ages 3-5. Story time lasts 30 minutes with crafts after.

Feb. 8, 6 p.m.: Indie Lens Pop-Up Film: “Tell Them We Are Rising” documentary. Celebrate Black History Month with a film that explores the rich history of historically black colleges and universities. A discussion will be held after the film screening.

Feb. 9, 10 a.m.: Healthy Eating and Lifestyle series by San Juan Basin Public Health. Interactive discussions about healthy living, including nutrition, effective grocery shopping and cooking affordable, healthy meals.

Feb. 9, 3:30 p.m.: STEAM lab: Parachutes (ages 5 and older). Drop in, design a parachute and test if it allows a safe fall to earth.

Feb. 13, 11:45 a.m.: Great Decisions: “U.S. Global Health: Problems and Challenges” lecture. League of Women Voters will present a discussion, moderated by Mike Todt.

Feb. 13, 6 p.m.: Adult board-game night (ages 17 and older). Find your gaming people and discover new board games.

Feb. 14, 4 p.m.: T(w)een time: Food lab (ages 9 and older). Learn cooking skills and have fun with food, with snacks for adolescents and teens.

Feb. 21, 4 p.m.: T(w)een time: Tabletop games (ages 9 and older). Play fun and offbeat board games with snacks for adolescents and teens.

Feb. 23, 3:30 p.m.: STEAM lab: Tower building (ages 5 and older). How tall can you build a structure using common, everyday materials?

Feb. 26, 7 p.m.: Books and Brews: A nontraditional book club and discussion about books people love, hate or can’t live without at Animas Brewing Co., 1560 East Second Ave.

Feb. 27, 11:45 a.m.: Great Decisions: The New Geopolitical Equation. Lecture and discussion hosted by League of Women Voters.

Feb. 27, 6:30 p.m.: Meet family members of Crazy Horse, Floyd Clown and Doug War Eagle, and author William Matson. Listen to a discussion about their book Crazy Horse: The Lakota Warrior’s Life & Legacy, based on the family’s oral history. A book-signing will be held during the event.

Feb. 28, 4 p.m.: T(w)een Time: Crafternoon, (ages 9-17). The library will provide craft supplies for adolescents and teens.
