Federal money to Durango health center

Affordable Care Act provides $187,000

The Southwest Colorado Mental Health Center has received $187,000 in Affordable Care Act funds to expand primary-care services.

The award is part of $4.7 million given to health centers in Colorado. It’s estimated that 86 full-time-equivalent health-care workers can be hired to treat 26,300 new patients.

Nationally, $295 million was awarded to 1,195 health centers.
