This election cycle a few of the wealthiest people in the country and their Super Political Action Committees will funnel billions of dollars to their candidates of choice. Is it possible that $153 million in speaking fees earned since 2001 could influence decisions made on behalf of banks, pharmaceutical companies, the insurance industry and military contractors? Are you ready for another taxpayer bailout of “too big to fail” banks that are now even larger? Do you want the United States to continue to be the world’s No. 1 policeman and arbiter of failed “regime change”?
Only one candidate refuses Super PACs and corporate dark money. Only one candidate runs an entirely people-powered campaign with an average donation of $27. Only one candidate will fight for a sensible foreign and military policy that doesn’t pit us against the rest of the world. Only Bernie Sanders has a proven decades-long track record of fighting for the rights of real people, not special interests.
If you’re a registered Democrat who’s ready for real change, I encourage you to attend your neighborhood caucus Tuesday, and make your voice heard. You can find out where to caucus at www.coloradodems.org. Get out, meet your neighbors and participate in democracy!
