The 17th annual Festival of Trees and Wreaths will take place virtually from noon Friday to 5 p.m. Sunday.
While Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad will host 40 locally-sponsored trees and wreaths, this year’s event will be held online at www.CCIFOT.givesmart.com because of health and safety concerns.
The online setting provides increased accessibility for people with disabilities, a central mission of Community Connections. Anyone may participate. Those riding the Polar Express will get a sneak peak at the display of trees and wreaths.
Online, participants may view a narrated tour of the trees and wreaths, bid on more than 60 trees and wreaths, gifts and decorations, enter for a chance to win one of five raffle prize packages including lodging, dining and outdoor adventure vacation packages and an Essential Package that includes gas, groceries, cleaning and hardware gift cards. They may also hear stories about Community Connections’ impact in the lives of people with disabilities.
All proceeds benefit Community Connections. Register online at www.CCIFOT.givesmart.com or text CCIFOT to 76278 for updates.
