The fifth-grade farmers market at Animas Valley Elementary School recently opened for business.
The farmers market is run by fifth-graders to teach students about supply and demand, cooperation, commitment, commerce and basic economies. Fresh vegetables and flowers grown in the garden are available.
The market is open 7:30-7:45 a.m. and 2:45-3 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays and 2:45-3 p.m. Fridays.
