Pagosa firefighters contain half-acre blaze
A mobile home burned late Thursday morning in Aspen Springs, a few miles west of Pagosa Springs, and was a total loss.
"It spread into the oak brush and trees surrounding it and was making a pretty decent run," said Karn Macht, deputy chief for the Pagosa Fire Protection District.
Firefighters responded immediately, and about half an acre burned before the blaze was contained.
"We were very lucky," Macht said. "We threw everything we had at it."
Macht said the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
