The Columbine District of the San Juan National Forest is offering firewood through Nov. 14 at the Cascade Gravel Pit off of National Forest System Road 579.
The wood includes logs from the construction of the fire line for the 416 Fire. People who take wood should have a standard firewood cutting permit.
Maps to the location are available at the Columbine Ranger District Office in Bayfield and the forest headquarters office in Durango.
