First Bayfield Block Party will be June 23

Bayfield's first summer evening block party on Mill Street will be Thursday, June 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be food, drink, and live entertainment, also activities for kids. The town is seeking arts and crafts, farmers market, and other vendors, also community non-profit groups, to participate.

Other evenings on Mill Street will be July 21 and Aug. 25.

The town and the Pine River Library will host the Block Parties to celebrate community. The town will close off Mill Street. All community members are invited to come downtown for food, beverages, music, and fun for the whole family. There will be a beer garden with beer provided by Bottom Shelf Brewery (proceeds go to the Be FRANK Foundation) and food sold by local restaurants and community vendors. For the kids there will be "street bowling" and a bouncy house provided by Lewis Merc.

"These parties are really just about neighbors meeting neighbors, getting outside on a nice summer evening and enjoying music and food with your fellow community members," said Judy Poe, assistant director and community liaison at the Pine River Library.

The June 23 event will feature country and classic rock from Million Dollar Highway. July 21 will be electrofusion/funk/jam from Sky Pilot, and during the final party on Aug. 25, you can groove to the neo-soul sounds of Hello Dollface.

The parties will showcase and celebrate the talents of people living in the Pine River Valley. The town is calling all crafters, food producers, artisans, wool producers, honey bee products and people who offer services like pet sitting, child care, pack trips, and river guides to sign up for a vendor booth at each party. Local businesses, clubs and non-profits are asked showcase their products and services. All community organizations are encouraged to participate! If you already have a Town of Bayfield business license, the registration is free, otherwise, $25 will pay for your booth and license fee. Booths will be free for all non-profits. Vendor applications can be picked up at the Bayfield Town Hall or accessed online at www.bayfield.gov.
