Alexis Cox paced the Fort Lewis College women’s track and field team Sunday afternoon at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Colorado State University-Pueblo at the Neta and Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl in Pueblo.
The Skyhawks finished 11th overall with five points at the their first-ever conference outdoor track and field meet. New Mexico Highlands University won the women’s team title with 179 points.
Three school records were set Sunday – in the shot put, triple jump and 5,000-meter run.
Cox led the way in the triple jump with a mark of 11.26 meters, finishing fourth for five points, good for second-team All-RMAC honors.
Caitlyn Espinosa had a school record in the shot put with a toss of 9.95 meters, placing 16th, and Karlie Wondolofski was 17th with a throw of 9.76 meters.
Becca Bramley’s 5,000-meter time of 19:36.24 was good for the third school record Sunday. Bramley, who finished 18th, was followed by Chloe Boehlke’s 28th-place time of 21:07.06.
Heather Danny threw the javelin 30.99 meters to place 11th and lead all four Skyhawks in the event. Caitlyn Espinosa was 13th (29.69), followed by Gabrielle Silva’s throw of 25.59 meters (15th) and Cox’s 17th-place toss of 21.55.
Madeigh Winsor, Emily Bryant, Cox and Kiara Glover ran to an 11th-place finish in the 4x400 meter run with a time of 4:28.17.
