A new Fort Lewis College cross country runner is sure to have a great set of lungs.
Jacob Michael Evangelista signed a National Letter of Intent to run for the Skyhawks, head coach Mark Dutro announced Monday.
Evangelista will graduate from Vanguard High School in Colorado Springs this spring after stints on its cross country, track and choir teams.
He was a four-year starter in cross country and track and field, helping the team to three consecutive regional championships.
Evangelista also was named to the Colorado All-State choir team in 2013.
He plans to major in athletic training at FLC.
“We view Jacob as a developing runner who will have a strong future impact on our program and the (Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference),” Dutro said in a news release.
