FLC entrepreneurs invited to compete for funding

Hawk Tank business plan competition reception Thursday
Anthony Reinert, left, and Aaron McDowell, who want to start Alatum Enhanced Decision Support, make their presentation to the Fort Lewis College Hawk Tank judges last year. There will be a reception on Thursday for those interested in competing this year.

The 2017 Fort Lewis College Hawk Tank Business Plan Competition will officially kickoff at a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Durango Welcome Center.

A formal contest information session will be held at 5 p.m. Jan. 16 in Noble Hall, Room 125 at 5 p.m.

The Business Plan Competition gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to create a business plan under the mentorship of successful business experts. The competition culminates in a chance to win funding.

The Hawk Tank competition is open to those who have been in business less than one year or have a business idea.

Those interested in attending the reception can RSVP to FLC associate professor of management Michael Valdez at mevaldez@fortlewis.edu.

Participants have until Feb. 3 to officially enter. Find more info at www.fortlewis.edu/businessplan.
