FLC Environmental Center to celebrate 25 years Saturday

A new composting facility was under construction in July at the Fort Lewis College Environmental Center. The center is celebrating its 25th year.

The Fort Lewis College Environmental Center will celebrate its 25th anniversary on Saturday at the 15th annual REEL Environmental Film Experience.

The event will feature the regional premiere of “A Time To Choose,” three locally-created film shorts, a celebratory climate march and the chance to take action. There will be free food, free beer and lots of birthday cake.

The event will be held from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Community Concert Hall. A pre-event march will start at 4 p.m. Participants should meet at Eighth Street and East Eighth Avenue.

Tickets are $12 in advance at the FLC Welcome Center or FLC Community Concert Hall and $15 at the door (children 12 and younger are free).

A Time To Choose” is an award-winning documentary by academy-award winning producer George Ferguson that explores the comprehensive scope of the climate change crisis and examines the power of solutions already available.
