The Fort Lewis women’s soccer team scored a 4-1 win over New Mexico Highlands on Friday in Las Vegas, New Mexico.

Aubrey Swindle scored in the fifth minute to give FLC the early lead. McKenna Ford and Sabrina Reyes both scored their first career goals for FLC, and Madyson Barela scored her team-leading fourth goal.

“Highlands does a really good job of squeezing the space and caught us offsides a number of times before we solved the problem. Our team was tough today and scored four goals,“ commented head coach Damian Clarke. ”A couple players got their first career goals, so all in all today was a few steps forward.“

The Skyhawks improved to 3-4 overall and 1-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference with the win. Highlands dropped to 0-5, 0-3.
