The Fort Lewis College volleyball team picked up its third consecutive win with a 3-2 (25-25, 27-25, 13-25, 14-25, 16-14) victory over Black Hills State on Friday in Spearfish, S.D.
The Skyhawks won the first two games before falling in the third and fourth to face a decisive fifth set.
Black Hills (5-11, 1-6 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) led 10-6 in the fifth set before an FLC (4-11, 4-3 RMAC) rally gave the Skyhawks the victory.
Ashley Wells led the team with 17 kills and a .222 hitting percentage while also posting 21 digs.
Hannah Starbuck and Madi Bickle both picked up 10 kills in the match.
Reigning RMAC defensive player of the week Jenna Kinzer led FLC with 25 digs.
FLC made nine blocks as a team.
The streak is the Skyhawks’ longest since winning six in a row in 2010.
FLC will continue its road trip against Chadron State at 6 p.m. Saturday in Chadron, Neb.
