FLC volleyball wins its 4th consecutive match

Skyhawks sweep Chadron State to go over .500 in the RMAC

Make that four in a row.

After nine consecutive losses to start the season and losers of 11 of its first 13 matches, the Fort Lewis College volleyball team now has won four in a row, its longest winning streak since winning six in a row in 2010.

And this one gave FLC a winning mark in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

FLC (5-11, 5-4 RMAC) beat Chadron State 25-22, 25-23, 26-24 on Saturday in Chadron, Neb., a 3-0 straight-sets sweep.

Ashley Wells led FLC with 13 kills, and Kristin Stephan added nine, as both attacked at a .310 and a .429 hitting percentage, respectively. Wells and Stephan both had three blocks each, too.

Heather Danny had 36 assists.

Wells led FLC with 15 digs, and Jenna Kinzer added 12.

Chadron State is 3-14 and 0-8 in the RMAC.

FLC next will play Colorado Christian on Friday in Lakewood.
