The Fort Hays State University Spring Thaw left the Fort Lewis College women’s golf team out in the cold Tuesday in Mesa, Arizona.
FLC finished 12th out of 12 teams with a team score of 830, after Monday’s 405 with a 425 on Tuesday.
The tournament was played on the Dobson Ranch Golf Course: White Trees course.
It spans 6,181 yards and is a par-72.
Jessica Thulson was FLC’s top finisher in a tie for 47th with a 180 (87-93).
Lauren Trujillo finished 63rd for the Skyhawks after a 199 (99-100).
Lyndsey Blythe was 65th with a 200 (96, 104), and Caitlin Gaffeny’s 251 (123-128) rounded out FLC’s tournament in 70th.
“Each of our women’s golfers (are) trying hard and learning to play and getting better each week,” FLC head coach Guy Begay said in a news release. “I’m proud of them for teeing it up, putting up four individual scores and more importantly, putting a team score on the board.”
Minnesota State-Mankato won the tournament with a cumulative score of 626, and Kanyapak Sethasompobe won the tournament for the Stompers with a 6-over 150 to lead all 70 golfers.
Western New Mexico’s Mary Driscol was second with a 153.
Sara Swaney rounded out the top-10 finishers from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in seventh with a 158.
FLC next will play at the Dallas Baptist University Invitational on march 30 and 31 in Dallas.
