The Colorado State University Extension Office of La Plata County and Colorado Department of Health and Environment for Food Safety will offer a requisite food-safety training course for cottage-food producers and egg producers from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at Mount Outlook Grange, 680 Grande Ave., in Mancos.
The course is required for cottage-food and egg-producer certification and will cover the standards of cottage-food business, including food safety, food handling, cross-contamination, cross-contact with food allergens, temperature control, storage, transport, sales, ingredient labeling and disclaimers.
Participants will receive a food certificate when the course is completed.
Cost is $30 per person, registration is required and the class will be limited to 30 people.
