Food safety trainings to be held at fairgrounds

ServSafe food protection manager certification trainings will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 1 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 2 in the Extension Building at La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.

ServSafe is a nationally-recognized comprehensive food safety training program developed by the National Restaurant Association. Food service managers and cottage foods producers can benefit from this highest level of food safety training. After completing the exam with 75 percent score or higher, participants will receive a ServSafe certificate, valid for five years.

The cost is $120 per person. Participants will receive a course textbook, training and exam. Additional business associate from the same employer costs $75.
