Fort Lewis College announces 2017 Hall of Fame class

Ceremony will take place over Homecoming Weekend

The Fort Lewis College Department of Athletics announced its 2017 Hall of Fame class Monday.

The FLC Hall of Fame selection committee voted to induct five former student-athletes and an administrator.

Jamal Allen, Tim Bieri, Reed Duvall, Brianne (Lippoldt) Nelson, Nicole (Schwab) Ohlinger and administrator Jack Llewellyn will be inducted in a Homecoming Weekend ceremony Sunday, Oct. 15.

Allen played football for the Skyhawks from 1999-2002. He owns the school record with 238 receptions and finished his career tied for first with 44 games played. He is also third in FLC history with 2,640 receiving yards and kickoff return yards with 1,478. In 2001, Allen led all NCAA Division II receivers with 106 catches and earned All-American Honorable Mention, all-region and First Team All-RMAC honors.

Bieri was a four-year starter on the men’s basketball team from 2003 to 2007. He is third in the FLC record book in scoring (1,691 points), steals (181) and three-point field goals (208). He is fourth in blocked shots (141), fifth in field goals (590) and seventh in free throws (303). FLC won the 2004-2005 RMAC regular season title and went to two NCAA Division II tournaments in his college career. In his 2006-2007 senior season, Bieri led the Skyhawks with 623 points, 54 steals, 124 free throws, 211 field goals and 77 3-pointers.

Duvall was a two-sport student-athlete in men’s soccer and football. He competed in a total of 32 games for the Skyhawks’ football team and owns the school record with 704 punt return yards. His average of 32.0 yards per return is nearly twice as many as anyone in FLC history at the position. He is tied at the top of the record books with two punt returns for touchdowns and his 80-yard touchdown return is also a school best. In 2005, he led the Skyhawks with 106 tackles. Duvall earned an All-America Honorable Mention in 2006 along with All-RMAC Defensive Player of the Year and Special Teams Player of the Year honors.

Nelson was a 2003 cross country All-American at FLC. She finished 14th at the 2003 NCAA Championships, which remains the best finish by any FLC cross country runner. Nelson currently races on the USATF Running Circuit for the Boulder Running Company and Adidas Race Team. Last year, she finished 28th at the 2016 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships, second in the 2015 USA Half Marathon and third in the national championship marathon.

Ohlinger is the only Skyhawks volleyball player to earn All-American status and win the RMAC’s Player of the Year award twice. She was a two-time regional player of the year and earned All-RMAC First Team recognition twice.

Between 2004 and 2007, Ohlinger racked up several FLC records and still holds many of them. She holds the records for kills (1,452), kills per set (3.49) and blocks (549).

Llewellyn was the director of athletic development from 2000 to 2007. He was instrumental in facilitating partnerships with corporate sponsors and local businesses. He continues to assist FLC with event promotions and occasionally volunteers as a guest speaker in the classroom. Llewellyn is the executive director of the Durango Chamber of Commerce and lives in Durango.
