Fort Lewis College announced the launch of a new theater company, Durango Theatreworks. The company plans to stage shows at various venues, including the Community Concert Hall at FLC and outdoor amphitheater, as well as host pop-up entertainment throughout the city.
The inaugural season will include performances of “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “Much Ado About Nothing” and “Heathers, the Musicial.”
Durango Theatreworks will hold open auditions for performers ages 8 and older on April 16 and 17 at FLC. Cast and crew positions are not limited to students. To schedule an audition, email memckelvey@fortlewis.edu.
The company will be under the direction of faculty member Michael E. McKelvey, who will also be head the new Musical Theater degree at the college this fall.
