Organizers at Fort Lewis College are preparing several events in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday.
At 12:15 p.m., the annual March of Solidarity will begin at the Center of Southwest Studies. Marchers will wind through campus and end inside the Student Union Building.
There, the FLC Choir will perform at Reed Library. Organizers estimate the performance should start at 12:30 p.m.
A “Food Justice Workshop” will be held at 1:25 p.m. and again at 2:30 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom. Presenters will include Beverly Grant of Denver’s Mo Betta Green Marketplace, Feed the Hood of Albuquerque, Brandon Francis of Yeego Gardening in Farmington and Mike Nolan of the National Young Farmers Coalition.
At 6 p.m., a presentation called “Food and Power” will take place in the Student Union Ballroom.
