Fort Lewis College engineering students Cecelia Paciaroni of Durango and Dustin Mangus of Ignacio traveled in May to Mynamar and participated in a Village Aid Project.
The team, which also included community members and FLC faculty, installed a water system in Than Taung, a village with a population of about 260 in the Shan State of Myanmar. They also conducted monitoring and evaluation tests in five Myanmar communities where water systems were implemented in prior years and assessed new communities to plan for water-implementation projects in summer of 2019.
The team lived and worked for 15 days with villagers in the community while constructing a water system.
