Shelby Tisdale will give a presentation, “Millicent Rogers: From New York to Taos,” at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Center of Southwest Studies Lyceum at Fort Lewis College, 1000 Rim Drive.
The lecture is about Millicent Rogers, known as the “Standard Oil Heiress,” who was a legendary woman with an avant-garde taste and played a role in the history of modern fashion.
Tisdale is the former director of the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture and Laboratory of Anthropology in Santa Fe and the Millicent Rogers Museum in Taos, New Mexico.
The Center of Southwest Studies summer lecture series, based on the theme “Women in the Southwest,” is free and open to all.
