Davina Two Bears will present “My Academic Journey and the Old Leupp Boarding School” from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday at fortlewis.zoom.us/j/99137512196.
Two Bears holds a doctorate in anthropology with a concentration in archaeology and a minor in Native American and Indigenous studies from Indiana University, Bloomington. Her research and teaching interests include Diné culture and language, contemporary Native American music, Indigenous archaeology and federal Native American boarding schools.
Brian Twenter will present “Indigenous Images in American Television” from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. Tuesday at fortlewis.zoom.us/j/99455145017.
Twenter holds a doctorate in English (Native American literature) from the University of South Dakota. He has been a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Minnesota Morris and a visiting assistant professor at the University of Western Washington. His research and teaching interests include Native American literature; representations of Native American and Indigenous cultures, nations and peoples in television and film; and Indigenous/environmental studies.
