Erin Renner, a senior on the Fort Lewis College women’s cross-country team, has landed a spot in the 2017 NCAA Division II Cross-Country Championships on Nov. 18 in Evansville, Indiana.
Renner ran a career best 21 minutes, 46.89 seconds to finish 11th at the NCAA South Central Regional Meet last week in Canyon, Texas, to earn all-region honors and a place at the championships. Her time is the fourth fasted in FLC history at the 6K distance.
Renner, from Lakewood, was selected to the championship field as an at-large runner, as the Skyhawks, who placed sixth. Only the top three teams from each region get an automatic bid to the championships.
