Fort Lewis looking for new golf coach

A national search is underway for the position

Fort Lewis College started a national search for a new men’s and women’s golf coach.

The Skyhawks are moving on from Jim Foltz, who had served as the coach since 2019.

When asked about the situation and why Fort Lewis decided to make a change, Fort Lewis athletic director Travis Whipple said in a text message the college is actively conducting the search and will release more information once a decision is finalized.

“Institutional policy doesn’t allow for additional comment,” he said.

On the Skyhawks athletics website under the men’s and women’s golf tabs, both coaches’ pages have been removed and a “404 error” sign occurs when clicking on the page.

A job posting for the women’s golf coach job and coordinator of golf operations at Fort Lewis College is on ncaamarket.ncaa.org.

An online job posting for the men’s golf coach opening could not been found.

The men’s golf team had its best finish at the Farmers Insurance Sam Proal Invite this season, placing third out of 10 schools. The women’s team placed ninth out of 13 schools at the Farmers Insurance Sam Proal Invite this season.
