The Fort Lewis College men’s golf team traveled to the Western New Mexico University Intercollegiate golf tournament at Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Arizona, scoring a 305 in the final round to place 16th out of 19 teams.
FLC finished with a three-round score of 898.
Matt Huntley led FLC by coming in 20th overall with a 214. Huntley was in third place after Monday’s two rounds of play. Dillon Washburn tied for 63rd with a score of 224, and Michael Thomas tied for 73rd with 226. Thomas was tied with Mitchell Donley, who competed as an individual.
Ryan Tanner finished tied for 91st with a 236, and Reed Hodgson finished 98th with 248 to round out the Skyhawks.
BYU-Hawaii won the team title by shooting an 845. BYU-Hawaii’s Brent Grant and Simon Fraser University’s Chris Crisologo led all golfers with a 203–13 under-par.
Fort Lewis will compete next on April 18-19 at the 2016 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Championships in Goodyear at the Golf Club of Estrella.
